It's so frustrating to love a band and to have to accept that you might never see them live, or that if you get the chance, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg! :( I am really lucky in that I have a car, so can drive to gig venues up country, but the cost of doing that can really creep up, so sometimes it's just not feasible. Live music is such a brilliant experience, but sometimes it feels like you're being punished for not living in an area that bands want to tour in!mrsmanicshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09894116750061022896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966316529291694099.post-46581750971618485212016-05-22T15:31:20.121+01:002016-05-22T15:31:20.121+01:00I feel your pain and I've got a similar proble...I feel your pain and I've got a similar problem, I love my music but I feel like most of my favorite bands just won't play near me. The closest major city I can go to concerts at is Toronto and it really upsets me when bands I like, skip that city and just do US tours no matter where they're from when they come to North America. I have a passport, but I don't have a car or a license to get there and as a college student I can't really drop everything and do a 7 hour drive to the nearest show in the states. Some of the bands I like are from Europe and a few of them have NEVER come overseas to play here. There's a band I have loved for years from Finland and they're always doing European tours, especially Germany. The last time they came to NA it was all US. I get jealous the most of the people who get the opportunity to see that band live because they always come out after the show and hang out with the fans so so many of the fans are meeting them and it makes me eat my heart out and bring me to tears. Some bands just don't tour Canada enough, and some of the really big ones in America open things like restaurants, cruises and conventions if they are superstars and it's unfair to those who don't live in that country and don't have the time or money to drive down and participate. Ugh it's frustrating, but I know what it's like to go through that. Emhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15955103477486198499noreply@blogger.com
